In the last 20 years, it has been well documented that outdoor play in nature boosts creativity and problem solving.  The key to a successful experience is parent communication.  

If you are interested in visiting Earthplace and signing up for an Earthplace program but don’t know if it’s the right fit for you and your family please contact us ahead of time for the most rewarding experience.

Accommodations

The Earthplace mission is to building a passion in our community for nature and the environment through education, experience and action.  We do this by being a welcoming and inclusive community resource to all families and individuals who visit no matter their differences. Earthplace is located on a quiet 62-acre wildlife sanctuary in Westport, Connecticut that includes nature trails, playgrounds, a variety of animal ambassadors, a birds of prey exhibit, a child friendly interactive nature museum, and seasonal special events.

Events

Earthplace offers a variety of inclusive family programming throughout the year. Family outings include canoeing, nature walks, family campfires, art related nature crafts and more. Earthplace staff encourages guest of all ages and abilities to attend any Earthplace events from daily animal encounters, to weekly birds of prey demonstrations, to monthly seasonal nature activities.

Programs

We regularly accommodate small volunteer groups of adults with special needs. For our education and nature programs we encourage guests of all ages and abilities to participate in an inclusive setting. Included are the Earthplace Preschool, after-school nature enrichment program and our summer camp.  We also have in-house and traveling nature and animal programs with flexible curriculums that can be easily modified to meet group needs.
